Android Malware Text Messages Premium Rate Numbers
Researchers at Kaspersky Lab have discovered the first Android Malware which sends text messages to premium rate numbers.
But, before you get all excited, there are a few stipulations to how this malware is received. The app masks itself as a media player and is NOT found in the app store. The only way a person is to get the malware is to install the untrusted app from a website.
On top of that, the user is told which permissions this media player has before the install. The app is granted permission to send text messages upon install.

Samsung S8500 Wave Ships with Virus
If you suspected your new phone would definitely be virus free, think again. The Samsung S8500 Wave ships with a virus on the MicroSD card. Utilizing the famous Autorun.ini trick, when the card is inserted into a Windows PC it will automatically infect the machine.
The infection will then continue to spread via any USB drive or memory stick used in that computer. Now is a good reminder to be sure you have an up-to-date antivirus on your Windows PC.
